What the app does

Sort, don't recite

You never type a date: you order cards. That is what exercises chronology rather than raw memorisation.

Events, monuments, works

Landmark dates in history, monuments compared by construction date, art and literature.

A card for every card

Each card comes with a detailed entry, so you learn from getting it wrong too.

Progressive difficulty

Three cards to begin, up to six at once for the ultimate challenge, with categories to unlock.

Why sorting beats reciting

Remembering "1789" says nothing about what came before or after. Knowing that the French Revolution follows American independence and precedes Napoleon's coronation builds a mental map — and that map survives.

TimeSort leans on exactly that effect: by forcing comparison between several markers, it installs relations of order rather than a list of numbers.

TimeSort — Why sorting beats reciting

Getting it wrong is part of the game

A wrong ordering is not answered with a bare "incorrect": each card's entry opens and explains. The card you misplaced is usually the one you end up remembering.

As the number of cards grows, the exercise stops being a matter of isolated knowledge and becomes genuine joined-up reasoning.
